St. Jude Catholic Pre-Primary & Primary School has come a long way in the region to cement its position in offering quality education in accordance with the Catholic traditions. The vision carrier Rev. Fr. Robert Vujs of Maryknoll Fathers and parish priest of St. Jude Catholic Church, Donholm in the nineties, wanted the Apostolic Carmel sisters to start a primary school in the Parish church premises.

This school project got a head start on 12th January 1998. There were 45 students enrolled for class one on the first day of school. The new school building started on 27th April 1999 and was inaugurated in January 2000 by Rev. Fr. Robert Vujs. Later in 2005, the school was handed over to the Archdiocese of Nairobi by the Maryknoll Fathers.

Since its inception, the institution has had five heads with the first Headmistress being Sr Winifreda. She was later succeeded by Sr. Maria Sheila. The third head of the institution was Sr. Maria Deepthi who was followed by Sr. Maria Sweetha from January 2015. In January 2020, Sr. Maria Sweetha A.C was succeeded by the current Headteacher, Sr. Maria Wilma A.C.

The school that started as a daycare has grown to fully flagged primary school handling pupils from pre-school to class eight. The population of both the teaching and non-teaching staffs has grown tremendously fast. Currently, the school boasts of three streams with spacious class setup.

The school is under the management of Archdiocese of Nairobi with His Eminence John Cardinal Njue as the current owner and its sponsor. This happened immediately after the founding father Rev.Fr.Robert Vujs left the country. The school’s top organ is the Board of Management that is currently under the stewardship of Rev. Fr. Simon Ng’ang’a, supported by the parish priest, Rev. Fr Patrick Kanja. Rev. Fr Francis Kiarie who is education secretary-Archdiocese of Nairobi, Sr Winifreda A.C who is Apostolic Carmel East Africa Regional superior are all members of the Board. Our able Headteacher Sr. Maria Wilma A.C is the secretary to the Board.
