SCHOOL TRIP 2025.

Trips Overview

Between 21/5/2025-18/8/2025, students from Grade 1 to Grade 9 participated in a series of educational and recreational trips to various destinations across Kenya. These excursions were designed to complement classroom learning through hands-on experiences, exposure to different environments, and opportunities for social interaction and personal growth.

Trip Summary

Grade 1: Village Market & Amusement Park

Objective: Recreational and social development
Highlights:

• Indoor games and rides at the Amusement Park

• Interactive sessions at Village Market
  Outcome: Enhanced social skills, excitement, and peer bonding.

Grade 2: Gravity CBC Centre & Amusement Park

Objective: Learning through play and CBC (Competency-Based Curriculum) engagement
Highlights:

• Hands-on CBC activities at Gravity Centre

• Fun and safe play at the Amusement Park
  Outcome: Reinforcement of CBC concepts through interactive learning.

Grade 3: Fred's Ranch

Objective: Agricultural and environmental education
Highlights:

• Animal feeding, farm tours, and horticultural section

• Horse riding and ranch exploration
  Outcome: Appreciation for farming and environmental sustainability.

Grade 4: Wilson Airport & Stedmak Gardens

Objective: Transportation studies and wildlife observation
Highlights:

• Guided tour of Wilson Airport and aircraft viewing

• Visit to Stedmak Aquarium and wildlife mini-park
  Outcome: Understanding of local transport systems and biodiversity.

Grade 5: Mt. Longonot & Lake Naivasha

Objective: Geography and environmental conservation
Highlights:

• Hike up Mt. Longonot

• Boat ride and bird watching at Lake Naivasha
  Outcome: Real-world understanding of volcanic landforms and ecosystems.

Grade 6: Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Objective: Wildlife conservation and ecology
Highlights:

• Visit to chimpanzee sanctuary and Big Five sightings

• Educational talk on endangered species
  Outcome: Heightened awareness of wildlife protection and ecosystem balance.

Grade 7: Rift Valley Excursion

Objective: Regional geography and culture
Highlights:

• Exploration of minerals, escarpments, lakes and traditional communities.

• Visit to cultural centers and geographical landmarks
  Outcome: Deeper appreciation for Kenya's diverse geography and heritage.

Grade 8: Tsavo National Park.

Objective: Advanced ecology, history, and conservation
Highlights:

• Safari game drives

• Visit to historical sites and observation of the park’s vast landscape
  Outcome: Holistic understanding of ecosystems, conservation efforts, and history.

Grade 9: Coastal Region Expedition.

Objective: Industralization, History, culture and coastal ecology
Highlights:

• Visit to Bamburi Cement Company Limited, marine parks, Wasini Island, Dolphin

• Cultural immersion and beach exploration
  Outcome: Enriched understanding of coastal life, Swahili culture, and maritime history.

General Observations

• Student Conduct: Students were generally well-behaved, enthusiastic, and engaged throughout the trips.

• Staff Coordination: All trips were well-coordinated with adequate supervision and safety protocols from the staff.

• Transportation: Reliable and punctual transport services were used for all trips.

• Meals and Accommodation: Meals were provided as per the trip duration and location; accommodation was arranged for overnight trips (Grades7, 8 and 9).

• Health & Safety: First aid kits were available and no major incidents occurred.

Conclusion

The series of trips were resounding success, offering invaluable learning experiences beyond the classroom. These excursions strengthened curriculum links, fostered teamwork, and nurtured a greater appreciation for Kenya's natural, cultural, and historical wealth.
